OneNote and OneDrive do not require a Microsoft 365 subscription, but some premium features may require a Microsoft 365 subscription. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook require a Microsoft 365 subscription to activate. The Office apps available from the Mac App Store provide the very latest version of Office on the Mac. What version of Office is available from the Mac App Store? * These apps were also available from the Mac App Store in previous years. Starting in January 2019, the following Office applications are available for download from the Mac App Store: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote*, and OneDrive*.

Once downloaded, you will be asked if you want to Sign In, or Create Account.

If multiple users access your computer, you may want to choose Install for me only.

Choose the option to Install for All Users of this computer when asked, if you are the sole user ofthe computer.

Click Continue and follow the on-screen instructions in the Microsoft Office Installer (Figure 2).

You can also click the download at the top of your screen once the download completes You may need to navigate to your Downloads folder to access this file.

Double-click the Microsoft Installer package to begin the installation.

This will download the Microsoft installer package onto your computer (Figure 1).

Choose the option for Office 365 Apps.

Click Install Office on the top right corner of the screen.

You will be brought to the Microsoft 365 homepage.

Install Microsoft Office for Mac To install Microsoft Office 2016, do the following: You can access the online version by navigating to and signing in with your Illinois State University Email Address and password. They do, however, have access to the Online Version of Microsoft Office. Illinois State University annuitants do not have the option to install Microsoft Office onto their personal device.
